I absolutely adored Dallas. I’ve been to Fort Worth, TX many years ago and did the whole rodeo experience, so I was expecting the same of Dallas, but Dallas surprised me. It is such a cute city with so many great little neighborhoods and so much character.
I loved our stay at the Fairmont Dallas, which was perfectly located in the Downtown Arts District. I love a luxurious stay, which is central to everything, so the Fairmont Dallas was the perfect place for a short weekend stay in Dallas!

The Fairmont Dallas is full of amenities, but my favorite was the gorgeous terrace. It was a green oasis within the midst of the busyness of downtown. I couldn’t get over how green and beautiful the garden was. I could spend hours just enjoying this outdoor space. The pool was a great complement to the outdoor space. Unfortunately, it was quite windy the weekend I was there, which made for a good photo opp, but not so much the best pool day!
RESTAURANT
The AAA/Four Diamond Pyramid Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast while staying at the Fairmont Dallas. There is a weekend brunch buffet consisting of ready to be made omelets, fruits, croissants, and a variety of delicious brunch items to choose from. There are tons of great restaurants around the hotel as well, but its nice to have a good option on site. The service at the restaurant was excellent. Aida, the hostess, was the sweetest ever! Good service makes all the difference and I really appreciated how the staff went out of the way to make sure I was taken care of.
THE ROOMS
I loved the suite that we stayed in at the Fairmont Dallas. The room was so spacious – plenty of room for a couple or family to enjoy! The room was elegantly decorated. There was a large sitting room with a comfortable couch, TV, desk, and even a dining table. The Fairmont did not skimp out on their bath amenities. They provided La Labo, a luxury niche perfume brand, for their toiletries. The Fairmont even has their own signature scent, Le Labo’s Rose 31 consisting of spicy, floral, woodsy notes. The little things definitely matter! Even though the hotel is located in the midst of downtown, it was quiet without any outside noise. I had the most perfect slumber in a big comfy King sized bed in this luxurious suite.
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Dallas. The downtown location is central and walkable to many attractions, restaurants and shops. The terrace pool and garden is a nice breath of fresh air from the busy city center. The staff was professional and the service was great. Definitely consider the Fairmont Dallas for the perfect luxury stay in downtown Dallas!

Hi Julie, I lived in Dallas while I was attending SMU, but I haven’t been back to the city in YEARS. Loved your post — this would be such a great weekend getaway for me since I live in Houston now. The Fairmont looks lovely; perfect for relaxing and enjoying what Dallas has to offer.
May 18, 2017 at 9:39 AMGood to know about this place! I love a little luxury, too, when I travel. ?
May 18, 2017 at 12:43 PMI always love staying at a Fairmont property! I love how the location is so central, making it so easy get to nearby attractions. I can get used to the hotel shuttle – it is nice to not have to drive or take the transit while visiting a new city!
May 18, 2017 at 1:29 PMThis looks like such a luxurious oasis in the middle of Dallas! The pool looks lovely, as well as the restaurant. Also love that you give exact distances of the main attractions in town!
May 18, 2017 at 1:55 PMYou ruined my image of you by the pool with a full photo entourage. Somewhere off camera, a giant fan was blowing and floating your hair into the wind. Still a great shot and a great property. I think it’s best if you staying in a city to actually stay in the city. There is a soul and rhythm to the city at night that you will not feel if you drive to a suburban hotel after playing downtown.
May 19, 2017 at 2:19 AMhahaha… It was SUPER windy that day and I used a tripod + timer 😉 Telling you all my secrets, haha!
May 28, 2017 at 9:34 PMSuch a lovely hotel in the city and the restaurant’s food looks good too. Perfect for city getaway.
